Sarteneja Easter Regatta

Sarteneja Easter Regatta

The Sarteneja Easter Regatta is an annual maritime event held on Easter Sunday in Sarteneja, a coastal village in the Corozal District of Belize. This long-standing tradition celebrates the village’s rich boat-building and sailing heritage, featuring races of traditional wooden sailboats crafted by local artisans.

The regatta features various activities, including keel sailboat races with vessels measuring 20ft, 22ft, and 24ft, live music performances, beach parties, and local food stalls offering a variety of cuisine. The event has become a staple Easter tradition, attracting persons from near and afar to the scenic village.
